Object Identifier allows for Content Server to ensure that uneditable unique identifiers are assigned to object names on creation as well as allowing for categories to be automatically assigned to object types, in defined scopes, on creation.
The Object Identifier module addresses two features for Content Server.
- Assign uneditable identifiers to object types on creation. The identifier is assigned to the name of the item on creation and can’t be altered. The configuration of unique identifiers for object types includes scope definition, system sequences, user sequences, full or partial dates, user names or IDs, parent name and fixed text.
- Assigning a category to an object type on creation can ensure that items are assigned the correct categories on creation of an item. The configuration allows for the object type to be specified, the scope to be defined along with the category that gets associated to the item. It is also possible to disable inheritance of the categories through configuration.
