ECM BPM – Connecting process and content to transform your business

In recent years business process management (BPM) has been one of the hottest investment areas for business, largely because of its focus on improving business effectiveness and efficiency, and its ability to transform the ways companies operate. The BPM term can refer to a business process improvement discipline, a related set of technologies, or often both.

While content oriented applications often include built in workflow or process capabilities, typically these capabilities are limited to management of content specific tasks (such as content review and approval). Business Process Management (BPM) products have been used extensively to manage and improve broader and more complex business processes, but often have strong content needs as part of them.

In this session you will get an introduction to BPM – what it is and how it can be used. You will also learn how to leverage integration between content and BPM oriented applications in order to deliver the best of both worlds—superior access to content in the context of superior management of business processes.

Forskerforbundet will present their business rationale for investing in a document management system, how they established measures for success, and the extent to which their goals have been achieved. They will share their experiences from development requirements, completing the selection phase, and successful methods for project implementation and training. Forskerforbundet will also share key factors, which lead them to consider changing internal business processes and guidelines and the role they play in user adoption. Finally, they will cover lessons learned on the path to transforming from a paper to an electronic environment and how these challenges and successes influence their experience today with eDOCS DM version 5.3.

09:30 - OpenText Tempo - Fast, easy, secure file sharing and sync from any device.

This exciting session presents our new Tempo product, which allows users to share documents in a “Drop box” like way. Tempo comes in two flavours, Content Server 2010 Edition and Tempo Express Edition. The latter is a self-contained OpenText Tempo environment that can be used without a previously existing content management system or alongside other content repositories, including OpenText LiveLink 9.7.1.
