  • Mark Barrenechea

    President and Chief Executive Officer, OpenText

    Mark J. Barrenechea comes to OpenText Corporation (OTEX) as President and Chief Executive Officer beginning January of 2012. Prior to Joining OpenText, Mark was President and Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Graphics International Corporation (SGI). During Mr. Barrenechea's tenure at SGI, he led strategy and execution, which included transformative acquisition of assets, and penetrating diverse new markets and geographic regions. Previously, Mr. Barrenechea served as Executive Vice President and CTO for CA, Inc. (CA), (formerly Computer Associates International, Inc.) from 2003 to 2006 and was a member of the executive management team. Before going to CA, Mr. Barrenechea served as Senior Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle Corporation, from 1997 to 2003, managing a multi-thousand person global team while serving as a member of the executive management team. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Barrenechea served as Vice President of Development at Scopus, a software applications company. Prior to Scopus Mr. Barrenechea was with Tesseract, where he was responsible for reshaping the companys line of human capital management software as Vice President of Development.

    Mr. Barrenechea holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Saint Michaels College. Mark is the author of two seminal works about the evolution of the enterprise software industry: ebusiness or Out of Business: Oracle's Roadmap for Profiting in the New Economy, and Software Rules: How the Next Generation of Enterprise Applications Will Increase Strategic Effectiveness.

  • Eugene Roman

    Chief Technology Officer, OpenText

    Mr. Roman joined OpenText in October 2008 as Chief Information Officer. In February 2010, Mr. Roman was appointed as Chief Technology Officer.

    Mr. Roman started his career with Nortel Networks Corporation in 1981 upon graduation from the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Toronto. Mr. Roman has also worked in various groups within Bell Canada Enterprises Inc. (Bell), a Canadian communications company, where he was Group PresidentBell Systems & Technology, from 2005 to 2008, and led the effort to enable breakthroughs in productivity and performance and to deliver currentand next generationservices more efficiently by harnessing the power of Bells network. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Roman held the role of Chief Information and Technology Officer at Bell, integrating the critical resources of Information Systems/Information Technology, technology and processes to better deliver innovative programs.

    Currently Mr. Roman is on the Board of Directors of Ukrainian Credit Union Ltd. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, is a Certified Management Accountant, and is a recent graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors program.

  • James Latham

    Chief Marketing Officer, OpenText

    Mr. Latham was appointed Chief Marketing Officer of OpenText in July 2009, focusing on integration and collaboration between various marketing groups.

    Mr. Latham has more than twenty years of executive leadership and global marketing experience in both start-up and large public software development and integration organizations. Prior to joining OpenText, Mr. Latham led the Marketing Strategy team for worldwide brand management, awareness, perception, and digital relationship marketing at McCann World group, a global marketing communications company and a division of Interpublic Group (IPG) from March 2006 to June 2009. Over the past eight years, Mr. Latham has helped plan, build, execute, optimize and analyze digital advertising campaigns across a wide variety of Microsoft business to businessproducts and services including Enterprise Content Management, Digital Asset Management, and communications software products. Mr. Latham was also Vice President of Marketing and Marketing Strategy for several software companies including IBM (from September 1981 to July 1984) and Lotus Development (from August 1984 to August 1989).

  • Steve Best

    Senior Vice-President, Americas Sales

    Mr. Best was named Senior Vice President, Americas Sales at OpenText and appointed to the Executive Leadership Team in April 2012. Mr. Best joined the Company in 2003 as Director of Oil & Gas and Utility Sales. He was promoted in 2006 to Regional Vice President and his responsibilities grew to include customer sales in the Chemical and Natural Resources Industries. In 2010, he was asked to lead sales for OpenText’s Western United States territory. Mr. Best has over 25 years in customer sales and service, including his roles as Sr. Field Engineer on the General Dynamics F-16 program, and Associate Partner in Accenture’s Oil & Gas practice. Mr. Best earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University in 1985, and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
