SAP Extended ECM by Open Text is a comprehensive solution for the integration of ECM with the business processes managed in SAP. Unstructured content of all kinds can be managed throughout its lifecycle and can be tightly connected to SAP business objects. A consistent access to this content is given inside and outside of SAP applications. A showcase on the implementation of a content-enriched SAP business processes

As grid responsible in Belgium, Elia performs construction works for high volume customers whose current requirements evolve. The process initiated after a request for price by the customer generates a lot of content which today was always stored in SAP. As the volumes started to increase, the need for a decent content management solution emerged. This content was owned by the SAP processes and therefore a tight integration was required allowing both technical and non technical users to easily work with the content. Currently, additional processes have been identified which have a need for a content management platform. Thank to SAP Extended ECM, Elia was able to streamline ECM and SAP into a full Content-enriched SAP business process.

Joined Up Thinking for a Connected World

Many organisations put a great deal of effort into the concept of the connected enterprise, linking with their customers and suppliers, and integrating technology platforms.

Historically, modeling tools have been seen as specialist tools for technical teams, and vendors have tailored their value proposition towards such teams. This is changing, with the emergence of smarter and more user-friendly modeling tools that engage a wider audience. It can be thought of as a shift from “preaching to the choir” to engaging with the congregation. For many years ProVision has been among the leaders in technology for the “Choir”, but is now increasingly used as the ideal platform to engage with the congregation.  This session will discuss some of the obstacles to successfully implementing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture in the context of a siloed environment, and recommended steps to achieve improved alignment and collaboration across teams. It will provide insights into the important role a solution like ProVision can play to help achieve joined up thinking in a connected world.
