“I am the type of person who wants to experience new things, meet new people, and always find new challenges and goals to work toward. Working at OpenText did exactly that for me. I was able to socialize with other co-ops outside of work, meet and learn from employees in a variety of departments – the CTO, the VP of Product Marketing, and the CIO – just to name a few. In my particular position, my manager taught me many skills, which directly related to my program at school. Now that I am in my graduate program, I feel more comfortable because OpenText helped to prepare me for school just as much as school prepared me for the workplace! One thing I really valued about being a co-op at OpenText was that my contributions never went unrecognized, and my manager made me feel like I was truly a part of the team!
Are you interested in Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, or Human Resources? What about Research and Development? In my experience, no matter what area you work in, even if your job isn’t necessarily what you’re looking to do after graduation, you will be exposed to a broad range of learning experiences which will help to enhance your skill sets for future job interests.
The OpenText Co-op Program is one that places strong value on students from a variety of experiences and backgrounds. The program allows students to work in their respective positions while learning new tools to engage in social media. An OpenText co-op student will have the opportunity to attend events and complete other activities with other co-op students. The OpenText co-op program is truly like no other!
When I tell people I worked as a Communications Coordinator, they ask how my skills were used at this type of company. I have done everything from writing newsletters, to video editing, to event planning, to group facilitation, to statistic analysis! OpenText boasts a broad range of jobs and you might be surprised at what options are available! Working at OpenText was a great experience; I look forward to reapplying after graduation!
No matter what your area of interest may be, OpenText is a great place to start your journey. What are you interested in? Search OpenText’s listings on your school’s program website and get ready to begin your exciting future.”

“We have had such tremendous success with our Co-op program. We count on these fresh young minds to come in and stir the innovation pot. I push on them to team up and create magic. I give them a complete overview of my world, let them chew on it for a couple weeks, and then let them come back to me with ideas and breakthroughs. Just one example of these breakthroughs is the Gamification of keys elements of one of our flagship products. What this has done is make social and mobile essentially just status quo…they have begun the revolution of how people do work in business… they created magic. We welcome as many of these minds as we can get.”
— Steve Hunt, Chief Information Officer
“The co-op program at OT has been a tremendous resource channel for me as an online development manager. For the past two years, I have had nothing but great experience with co-ops who joined the team from various universities. I found co-ops bring a fresh mind, creativity and lots of enthusiasm. Above all, they bring the necessary skills to properly contribute and make a mark within the team and OpenText! If an opportunity would present, I would definitely look into my past co-op resources for full- time employment.”
— Rahmat Costas, Sr. Manager, Online Learning Development
